Tic Tac Toe Challenge #079

Hi Friends! I'm hosting this week's board over at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  I hope you'll pick 3 across, down, or diagonally and play along!

For my DT card, I went with the left first row on the diagonal:  Cake/Cupcake, Big Sentiment, Twine.

On a Neenah Solar White card base, I used MFT's Happy Birthday background stamp and SU's Melon Mambo ink to begin.  I added a strip of MFT DSP to ground my BIG birthday wishes die cut (MFT) that I die cut 3 times and glued together.  After adding a bit of SU Linen Thread, I popped up cake and cupcakes (MFT All the Cupcakes stamps & dies) that I colored with Stampin' Up Blends.  I don't have very many colors but I can do chocolate!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope we'll see you in the gallery!

Hugs,
Annie

The Paper Players #504: Claire's CAS Challenge

Hi friends! I put together a very Clean and Simple card today to play along over at The Paper Players where Claire is hosting a CAS Challenge with a Back to School theme:

My grandson is starting 5th grade this year from home with online learning.  I usually make lunchbox notes every year but since there's no lunchbox, I thought I'd go with some fun cards in the mail.  The images are from Ellen Hutson's Mini Voices in My Head by Julie E. I watercolored them loosely with my Zig Clean Color Markers on Bristol card and added the sentiment from SSS Lunch Box Notes 2.  Very clean and simple but I hope it makes him smile.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs,

Annie

Seize the Birthday #197: Rainbow Colors

Hello friends!  I'm playing along today over at Seize the Birthday where it's always a birthday theme but you can go with a topping for a little extra!

I wasn't sure I was going to add the topping today when I started but I couldn't resist the party hats!

This card is for a friend that I volunteer with for an old dog rescue organization.  My friends know that if there's a dog stamp set, I have to have it!  This stamp set is called Peeking Pets from Catherine Pooler.  I colored them with my Zig Clean Color brushes and put them behind a scrap of brick wall that I stenciled for another card. The grass is also a scrap die cut with Lawn Fawn's Grass Border.  The sentiment is from a MFT stamp set called Canine Companions.  It's hard to tell in the picture but the white cardstock layer was embossed with a wood paneling embossing folder.  AND, the finishing touch was adding rainbow colored party hats to the pups!

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you have a great week!

Hugs,

Annie

The Paper Players #503: Joanne's Color Challenge

Hi Friends!  Today I'm playing along over at The Paper Players where Joanne is hosting a Color Challenge:

Joanne always picks colors that I would never think of putting together but they always work! I was up for the challenge this time:

I used Stampin' Up Melon Mambo and Night of Navy (looks black in photo 😕), Catherine Pooler's Tiara and Gina K's Ocean Mist inks to match up the colors the best I could.  Using those inks, I created a background piece with Concord & 9th's Scatter Dots Turnabout stamp.  On my Melon Mambo card base, I embossed big dots from a We R Memory Keepers 3D embossing folder.  I die cut the polka dot panel and popped it up with fun foam.  The butterfly is 3 layers, 2 of which are vellum pieces.  I added some Wink of Stella to the scrolled body (Catherine Pooler).  Finally, I finished the card off with a piece of Washi tape and the Happy Mail Day sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.  Whew!  Color challenges usually stress me out and it takes multiple tries until I'm happy but this time it came together the first go round!

Thanks for stopping by ~ hope you're having a great week.

Hugs,

Annie

Tic Tac Toe Challenge #077

Hi Friends! Time for another fun board over at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge

I'm playing along with the first row down:  School Bus, CAS, and Circle.

I have one little school bus stamp from Neat & Tangled that I use frequently for lunch box notes for my DGS.  I'm not sure if he actually will be going back to school or doing remote learning but he will get fun notes from Grandma regardless!

I blended a blue sky using MFT's circle stencil, added a post-it to the top, and blended in some green grass too.  I fussy cut the school bus after coloring with Prismacolor pencils.  It was so tiny I didn't trust myself to use my Copics LOL!  The heat embossed sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp's Lunch Box Notes stamp set and I finished it off with a couple of MFT die cut clouds.

We hope you'll pick 3 and play along this week!  Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs,
Annie

Seize the Birthday #196: Tic-Tac-Toe

Happy Monday!  Today I'm posting for Seize the Birthday's Challenge that includes a Topping of Tic-Tac-Toe:

I had every intention of using the Tic-Tac-Toe Topping and was going for the Third Row on the Diagonal: One Image, Flowers, Large Sentiment.  I'm not sure that the sentiment is "large" enough but here it goes:

I used an older Simon Says Stamp set called 'Sketched Flowers' and heat embossed the image with Ranger Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder on Bristol cardstock.  I watercolored the flowers by just dropping color using Distress Inks.  The leaves and sprigs were watercolored with FineTec metallic golds.  The gold embossed sentiment is from the same stamp set and Gold Confetti from Pretty Pink Posh finished off the card.  A very shiny card!

Thanks for stopping by ~ Have a great week!

Shopping Our Stash #426: KISS (Keep It Simple Sister)

Hi Friends! Back again with my second card I made this weekend.  This one is to play along over at Shopping Our Stash where they are asking us to keep it simple.

This was a fun card to make.  I did a little bit of stenciling in the background with Distress Ink and then started making cocktails! I used a stamp set and dies from Stampin' Up called 'Nothing's Better Than' and popped them up on a scrap of DSP.  I really like the retro look of the glasses.

Thanks for stopping by ~ have a great week!

Hugs,

Annie

The Card Concept #138c

Hi Friends! I made a couple of cards this weekend to play along with a few challenges.  The first card is for The Card Concept with an adorable inspiration photo:

I'm all about my puppies and I was completely inspired by the pup and his/her sunglasses!  I came up with the following card in a Clean and Layered style:

I fell in love with Tim Holtz's Crazy Dogs when they first came out and use that stamp set and dies often when I need a pup.  This pup is watercolored with Zig Clean Brush Markers and looks a lot like my mini Schnauzer, Sydney.  The background was stenciled with Distress Ink and MFT's Brick wall stencil.  I added some grass with Lawn Fawn's Grassy Border die and Honey Bee DSP.  The sentiment is from MFT's Canine Companions stamp set.  Sydney's cool sunglasses were die cut with a glasses die from Impression Obsession and coated with Glossy Accents.  A few enamel hearts from Illustrated Faith finished off my card.

Thanks for stopping by ~ have a great week!

Woof,

Annie
