Tic Tac Toe Challenge #075

Hi Friends!  Design Team O is on this week with another fun and sunny board over at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge:

I went with the first row across:  Water, Green, and Enamel Dots.

I am so ready to stop adulting so I thought this theme was perfect!  I used Distress Oxide Mermaid Lagoon ink (of course) and MFT's Wave Maker stencil to create my ocean.  I spritzed it with Perfect Pearls and water before attaching to my card base.  The lovely Mermaid Tail stamps and dies are from Ellen Hutson which I colored with Zig Clean Color markers after heat embossing with Hero Arts Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  I finished the card with Stampin' Up Glitter Enamel Dots.  Anyone up for a swim?

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you find a bit of time to link up with us this week.  See you in the gallery!

Hugs,
Annie

The Paper Players Challenge #501: Sketch Challenge from Anne Marie

Hi Friends!  Today I'm playing along over at The Paper Players for this week's Sketch Challenge hosted by Anne Marie:

And here's my card:

I feel like I cheated on this one.  I took a great sketch and the leftover bits from Stampin' Up's June Paper Pumpkin kit and BOOM...I had a card!  The only thing I added was the Daffodil Delight card base and I heat embossed the sentiment on a scrap of black cardstock.  Yep...feel like I cheated!

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you're having a good week!

Annie

Shopping Our Stash #425: Black and White

Hi Friends!  I'm playing along over at Shopping Our Stash where they are looking for Black and White cards...one of my favorites!

This card was pretty quick to put together.  I die cut a stitched black frame from Lawn Fawn and layered on a Neenah Solar White card base.  I used Stampin' Up's Party Panda stamp set to start the party.  I added a MFT die cut DSP balloon and popped it up over the smaller one from the stamp.  The sentiment is from Stampin' Up's Hello Cupcake stamp set.  I finished it off with some Stampin' Up black stars.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great week!

Annie

Seize the Birthday #195

Hi Friends!  I'm playing along today with the challenge, Seize the Birthday.  It is always a birthday themed challenge with a little extra topping thrown in for more fun!

The topping this time around is to use a non-neutral card base.  I've used a Memory Box Blueberry Notecard for my card base:

I don't know about you but I'm so excited that Shark Week is coming up on August 9th.  I love that series so to celebrate, I'm going with a Baby Shark birthday card!

And if you're a fan of the movie Jaws, you'll sing when you read the sentiment!  I used Distress Oxide inks to blend the background on watercolor paper, then sprinkled some shimmer spray for bubbles.  The shark die cut (Baby Shark) and sentiment (Sharky Sentiments) are from My Favorite Things.  Clear enamel dots were added to finish off the card.

Thanks for stopping by!  Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo...

Hugs,
Annie

The Paper Players #500: A CAS Challenge by Jaydee

Hi Friends!  The Paper Players, one of my very favorite challenges, is celebrating Challenge #500.  They are looking for a CAS celebration card:

I looked back on my computer and realized I started playing with The Paper Players back in 2014!  I also had the honor of being on the uber-talented design team in 2018 and it seems like yesterday that we were celebrating Challenge #400!

I realize this card is not totally CAS but I had to go a little bit further for their wonderful celebration.  First I traced the balloon shape (MFT Big Balloon) before I stenciled stars (MFT Star Confetti) with VersaMark ink.  I heat embossed them with gold embossing powder.  Next I erased the pencil lines and, using the balloon stencil, I blended Distress Ink Squeezed Lemonade over the embossed stars.  I drew the balloon string, layered a black & white paper strip, and popped up the Happy Birthday sentiment (SSS).  I added a black layer to help it pop a bit on the card base and finished with some shiny SU gold stars.

Congratulations Paper Players on this fantastic milestone!  Here's to 500 more!

Hugs,
Annie

Tic Tac Toe Challenge #073

Hi Friends!  Welcome back for another fun Tic Tac Toe Challenge with a new board:

My card is following the first row down:  Sequins, Peony, Orange

When I saw 'Peony' on the board, I knew I had to use an old wooden mount rubber stamp that I had purchased years ago from Impress (a local craft shop).  It was part of a Pen & Ink flower series and is so beautiful with its detail.  And...peonies were my Mom's favorite flower and she had some gorgeous ones in her garden. I stamped the peony with Catherine Pooler's Orange Twist ink and masked it off to stencil some dots (Renke Grid of Dots) with DI Tumbled Glass ink.   I then used Prismacolor pencils to add a bit more color to the flower.  The sentiment is heat embossed and also from Impress.  After layering up on the card base, I scattered a few blue sequins to finish off the card.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you'll play along with us this week.  Remember, you have until next Thursday to link up!

Annie

The Paper Players #498: Fun and Fancy Folds

Hi Friends!  I'm playing along over at The Paper Players Challenge where Ann is hosting a theme of Fun and Fancy Folds:

I'll admit, I'm not a fancy fold cardmaker.  Once in a blue moon I'll give one a try but I thought it would be fun to play along since I had some time to make a few mistakes!  Maybe it's the measuring that messes me up but this time I only had to make the base card once so yippee for me 😊

It's a Stand Up card where the base was cut from Stampin' Up's Night of Navy cardstock.  The DSP is SU Tranquil Textures and the Octopus from SU's Sea of Textures stamps and Under the Sea Framelits. Being at the beach, this is one of my absolute fave stamps and dies.  I die cut MFT's Hugs out of the Night of Navy cardstock and then popped up the sentiment strip from SSS.  This will be heading to my DGS for an 'octopus hug' until we can actually hug in person again!

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you're having a good week!

Annie

Seize the Birthday: Red, White & Blue Topping

Hi Friends!  I'm posting a card today for the current Seize the Birthday Challenge.  It is always birthday themed but they include a little extra topping if you'd like to add to your project.  The current topping is, appropriately, Red, White & Blue:

On a Neenah Solar White card base, I added some fun 'Party Fans' from Catherine Pooler's latest collection.  I stamped them with Stampin' Up inks and die cut with the matching dies.  Some are popped up for dimension and of course we had to add some confetti to the birthday party.  I added a few SOL enamel dots to the fans and finished the card with the "Cheers to More Years" sentiment (MFT) on the inside.

I hope you had a safe and sane 4th and thanks for stopping by!

Hugs,
Annie

Tic Tac Toe Challenge #071: Hello!!

Hi Friends!  Today is a special day!  It is my first time over at the  Tic Tac Toe Challenge as a member of the uber-talented Design Team.  I'm thrilled they asked me to join Team O and so excited to be part of this fabulous challenge that gives us lots of creative choices for our projects.  This week is no different!  Check out the latest board:

I went with the left row on the diagonal:  Picnic (watermelon), Stripes (DSP), and Word Die (Sweet).

On a Neenah solar white card base, I layered a bit of MFT's Dots & Stripes DSP die cut with PTI's border dies.  The watermelon were from SOL's watermelon2stamp stamps and dies that I've had for a very long time (over 5 years).  The sweet word die from MFT was die cut three times, layered together, and then smothered with some Glossy Accents.  I added a bit of Wink of Stella to the seeds and finished it off with May Arts red natural twine.  Watermelon is my absolute favorite fruit in the summertime!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll play along this week!  See you in the gallery!

Annie
