Tic Tac Toe Challenge #101

Hi there! It's time for a new board over at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge and we hope you'll play along!

My card is following the First Row on the diagonal: Cute Critter, Dots, and Hugs/Miss You.

I layered an embossed piece of SU Crumb Cake cardstock onto a piece of SU Real Red.  The embossing was from an older folder from We R Memory Keepers with big dots.  It was one of the first "3D" embossing folders.  The dots are big and bold but didn't photograph too well here so I added little dots to my cute critter's cheeks :) The bear is from the stamp set that came with the December Paper Pumpkin kit and I colored him with SU Blends.  He's holding a little die cut stitched heart from Memory Box.  The sentiment die is from Simon Says Stamp that I just had to have (given the name of my blog :), cut out of Real Red cardstock.

Thanks so much for stopping by...come play with us!

Hugs,

Annie

The Paper Players #511: Claire's Theme Challenge

Hi Friends! Today I'm playing along over at The Paper Players where the lovely Claire is hosting a "Fall Critters" theme:

I am still playing with Halloween cards, so...

Stampin' Up's 'Have a Hoot' owls came out to play.  After simple coloring with Copics, I used the Peek-a-Hoot dies to die cut some windows out of Ellen Hutson Woodgrain cardstock. The sentiment is from SSS popped up on the front and I used the SU sentiment, "Have a Hoot on Halloween" on the inside.  I touched up the pumpkin and bandana with a  Nuvo Glitter pen and added Glossy Accents to the owls' eyes and spider.

Thanks for stopping by ~ hope you're having a good week!

Annie

The Paper Players #498: Fun and Fancy Folds

Hi Friends!  I'm playing along over at The Paper Players Challenge where Ann is hosting a theme of Fun and Fancy Folds:

I'll admit, I'm not a fancy fold cardmaker.  Once in a blue moon I'll give one a try but I thought it would be fun to play along since I had some time to make a few mistakes!  Maybe it's the measuring that messes me up but this time I only had to make the base card once so yippee for me 😊

It's a Stand Up card where the base was cut from Stampin' Up's Night of Navy cardstock.  The DSP is SU Tranquil Textures and the Octopus from SU's Sea of Textures stamps and Under the Sea Framelits. Being at the beach, this is one of my absolute fave stamps and dies.  I die cut MFT's Hugs out of the Night of Navy cardstock and then popped up the sentiment strip from SSS.  This will be heading to my DGS for an 'octopus hug' until we can actually hug in person again!

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you're having a good week!

Seize The Birthday #183: Show Me Your White Space

Hi Friends!  I made a couple of cards today while I waited out the storm.  The first card I'm posting was for Seize the Birthday #183:

The topping this time around is White Space ~ a clean and simple birthday card. Although white space doesn't have to be 'white,' I used a white card base to showcase the little bees and their foiled DSP hive.

I love the Honey Bee set from Stampin' Up and used the stamps and dies and the Golden Honey DSP for the hive. I used the honeycomb die included in the set to dry emboss a portion of the background although the photo doesn't pick it up well :( .  The sentiment is from MFT's 'Meant to Bee' stamp set, white heat embossed on a flag banner.  I colored the bees with Prismacolor pencils and added a few gold sequins and dashed lines for movement.

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you had a great weekend!

Hugs,
Annie

The Paper Players #478: CAS Challenge from Jaydee

Hi Friends! Over at The Paper Players, Jaydee is hosting a Clean and Simple Challenge this week with a fun theme of "Woodland Critters:"

We have a lot of woodland critters down at the beach but one of my faves (besides the deer) are the little wild brown bunnies.  And since my next big card making holiday is Easter, why not a CAS Easter card for the challenge - with a little brown bunny, of course.

I used Concord & 9th's Stitched Blooms die to add the stitched flowers to the white background layer for some texture.  The bunny was die cut with Impression Obsession's Bunny die using scrap cardstock. The heat embossed sentiment is from Lawn Fawn. I added a few white gel dots and some Wink of Stella on his carrot snack.

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you're having a great week!

Hugs,
Annie
