The Paper Players #488: Laurie's Sketch

Hi there! I'm posting for the new sketch challenge over at The Paper Players and I can't believe I am actually posting this early...for me!

Laurie came up with an easy peasy sketch that's versatile for any occasion. I'd been playing with a new stamp set (for me) from Stampin' Up called High Tide.  I thought the lighthouse scene would work great for the larger image:

I used Hero Arts' Wave & Sea Confetti Die for the background layer over the Neenah Solar White card base.  I die cut the lighthouse scene with MFT's stitched rectangle die and layered it onto some red cardstock.  I added a double bow of May Arts' red twine before popping up the lighthouse.  I also added some Nuvo Glitter Gloss to the light beam and Nuvo Seashell drops to the sandy beach to finish off the card.  I just noticed I didn't use quite as many layers as the sketch called for...oops!   Hope that's okay!

Thanks for stopping by ~ Have a good week!

Annie

Freshly Made Sketches #432

Hello Friends!  I'm playing along over at Freshly Made Sketches #432 today:

The Bird Ballad DSP from Stampin' Up really did most of the work on this card. I die cut the MFT Tag (BP5) out of pink cardstock and then die cut it again to inlay the DSP with the darling bird and flowers.  I stamped some leaves from SU Free as a Bird and than popped up the tag over another little strip of DSP.  I added the sentiment from Gina K.'s Tiny Textures and a bit of hemp cord to the tag to finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you have a great week!

Seize the Birthday #189: Food And/Or Drink

Hi there...back again to play along over at Seize the Birthday's latest birthday-themed Challenge with the optional Topping of Food And/Or Drink:

I put together this card for my nephew's birthday this week.  Unfortunately, he had to have a 'FaceTime' birthday party this year but I'm sure we'll make up for it later!

I used Stampin' Up's 'Bubble Over' stamps and dies for this card and the coordinating DSP and inks.  I haven't attempted too many fun fold cards but was happy with how this one turned out.  Here's a pic of the inside...

Thanks for stopping by ~ Have a great weekend!

Rainy Day Crafting

Hi Friends!  A rainy day made for some fun crafting time today.  I have a couple of cards today for two Challenges so I'll keep this post short.  The first card was for the current Tic Tac Toe Challenge #061:

I went with Markers (Copics), Designer Paper (stash), and Red (stars) for my card.   I was totally inspired by a recent card posted by Michele Ferguson over on her blog, I Card Everyone!

I stenciled some stars in the background (MFT Star Confetti) with DI in Tumbled Glass.  The stamps and dies are from Ellen Hutson's 'Voices in My Head' and 'Hands' dies...both designed by Julie.  The DSP strip came from my stash.

I loved this card so much, I made several.  One of the additional cards was to play along over at Seize the Birthday's Seize the Hero Challenge #188 as a shout out to a special nurse:

Same supplies as first card but with a different sentiment to send some "Positive Mental Vibes" her way:

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope all is well!

Annie

Shopping our Stash #418

Hi friends! Shopping our Stash is celebrating Spring for the current challenge:

The theme is Happy Passover - Happy Easter - Happy Spring. I'm going to continue celebrating Spring as long as I can with flowers.  The weather has been fantastic and it's so fun for me to see all the new growth poking out of the dirt.

I'm still playing with the Beautiful Friendship stamps from Stampin' Up.  I just love the images in this set, especially the hydrangeas!  I created the background with Catherine Pooler's Queen for a Day (purple) and Sage inks.  The card base is My Favorite Things' Purple Rain cardstock and yep, I kept hearing Prince's song in my head the entire time!

Thanks for stopping by ~ Have a great weekend!

Hugs,
Annie

The Card Concept #133 - Hello Spring

Hello friends! Lots of flowers happening on my craft desk in hopes of playing along with all the Spring-themed challenges going on right now.  The Card Concept has a beautiful photograph that just made me smile and I'm excited to join in the fun...it's been awhile since I've played over there:

Such a gorgeous picture! I was inspired by the dark pink roses and the white tray:

I used Stampin' Up's Beautiful Friendship stamp set for the rose blossoms and Catherine Pooler's Postage Stamp dies before layering on a Melon Mambo card base.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.  A few Stampin' Up Glitter Enamel Dots finished the Clean and Layered card.

Thanks for stopping by ~ Have a great weekend!

Tic Tac Toe Challenge #60

Hi Friends! Time to play along over at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge with another fun board:

I decided to go with the first row down: Tilted (flowers), Stitched (borders), and Blue (stenciled sky).

When I saw this card design on Nancy Leppek's blog, I knew I had to case it! I stenciled the blue sky with DOX Tumbled Glass and MFT's Small Cloud Stencil.  Then I added the top stitched border layer (Lawn Fawn).  I die cut Tim Holtz's Wildflower Stems a couple of times in yellow and green cardstock, glued them together for dimension, and added them to the card...tilting in the wind.  I stamped the bottom stitched layer (Lawn Fawn) with a sentiment from Stamps of Life and added it to the card.  Thanks, Nancy, for the inspiration!

Have a great weekend and stay safe!

Hugs,
Annie

Seize the Birthday #187: Spring Fling

Happy Friday!  It's an optional Spring Fling over at the Seize the Birthday challenge this time:

We've had some spring-like weather the last few days and I'm starting to see the bees come out and get to work!  So, my card for the Spring Fling option had to include bees and blooms.  Normally, I'd be creating a card with raindrops and umbrellas!

On a Memory Box Sweet Corn card base, I added some Stampin' Up Laser Cut Specialty paper for my "trellis." The blooms are Meadow Blossoms from Concord & 9th, colored with Copics and die cut.  The busy little bees from Stampin Up's Honey Bee bundle were also colored with Copics and a little Nuvo Glitter Gloss added to their wings.  The sentiment is from Avery Elle's 'Handwritten Notes' stamp set.  I finished off the card with Stampin Up's Glitter Enamel Dots.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you're getting some sunshine were you are...it definitely helps!

Hugs,
Annie

The Paper Players #486: Jaydee's Color Challenge

Hello!  Back again with another card today for the latest challenge over at The Paper Players:

Such a pretty and soft color combination!  I thought I would go with a sympathy card and I still had Stampin' Up's Beautiful Friendship stamps on my desk.  I just love the images in that set, especially the hydrangea.  My previous home had 10 Nikko Blue hydrangeas along one side that were so beautiful.  The Seaside Spray ink color captured that memory perfectly!

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,
Annie

Freshly Made Sketches #430

Happy Easter!  Strange day today...streamed church service and no family dinner.  But, all friends and family are doing well so lots to be thankful for.  With some time on my hands, I played along with a couple of challenges.  This one is for the latest Freshly Made Sketch:

I was going for a clean and simple masculine "hello" card and this sketch and the 'Say it in Diamonds' stamps from Catherine Pooler were a perfect match.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your Easter was a good one!

Hugs,
Annie

Tic Tac Toe Challenge #59

Hi Friends! I played with paper and ink a bit this morning for the latest Tic Tac Toe Challenge:

I made this card with the 2nd row down: Pink, Orange, and Yellow.  Happy colors for a Happy Birthday card!

I stamped the background using Concord & 9th's Sketched Stripes background stamp in pink and yellow inks.  I layered it on an Orange Fizz card base.  The flowers and sentiment are from Stampin' Up's Beautiful Friendship stamp set.  I added some SU sequins and linen thread after I fussy cut and glued some extra leaves on for interest.

Thanks for visiting ~ Happy Easter!

Hugs,
Annie

Shopping Our Stash #417: Under the Sun, Moon and Stars

Hi there! Back again with a card for the latest Shopping Our Stash Challenge: Under the Sun, Moon and Stars.

In my stash is a stamp set from Ellen Hutson that I had to have but have never used...perfect for this challenge!

I used the 'Voices in my Head' stamp set to create this thank you card.  I used MFT's Star Confetti stencil set and the first layer of stars were stenciled with Delicata Golden Glitz Ink.  The second layer of stars were stenciled with DecoFoil's Metallix Gel in Gold.  I added the heat embossed sentiment on a PTI die cut and layered it over some SU sequin ribbon and gold metallic thread.  The hardest part of this card for me was waiting for everything to dry without sticking my fingers in it!

Thanks for visiting ~ Take care and stay well!

Hugs,
Annie

The Paper Players #485: LeAnne's Theme Challenge

Hi Friends!  This morning I made a card for one of my favorite challenges.  This card is for LeAnne's Theme Challenge over at The Paper Players:

One of my favorite critters at the zoo are the giraffes:

I stenciled the white card base with MFT's Small Cloud stencil and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink before I added the Sylvan Frame from PoppyStamps die cut from Jelly Bean Green cardstock.  I then stamped the happy little giraffes from MFT's 'Giraffing Me Crazy' stamp set, simply colored them with Copics, and die cut.  I really had no plan for this card but I knew I wanted to use them all.  So...I cut off their legs and in some cases their bodies (ouch) and tucked them in behind the frame's foliage.  I added the white heat embossed sentiment and plan on sending this to my grandson whom I haven't seen in quite a while. Not sure what to do with the giraffe legs 😕

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you and yours are all well.

Hugs,
Annie

Tic Tac Toe Challenge #058

Eek...I almost missed playing this week! I've been organizing, purging, and cleaning like so many others and we've had some sun so I've been giving the yard some love.  The Tic Tac Toe Challenge board from Felicita this week is a good one:

I decided to go with the bottom row across for my card:  Stripes (the leaves), Black, and Heat Embossing (the sentiment).

I must give credit to Gina K. for this card design.  I watched this video --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d55aE0HizZo one night and realized, 'Hey...I have that stamp!' I love it when that happens :)

I stamped the Bold & Blooming image in VersaFine Onyx Black on Classic Crest Sand cardstock. I colored the blooms and leaves with a white Prismacolor pencil.  The perfect sentiment is from Unity & Co. and it was heat embossed with Brutus Monroe Raven embossing powder and popped up with foam tape.  I added a white cardstock layer and mounted it onto a Hero Arts Black notecard.  The finishing touch was some black bling from my stash.  This card is going to one of my buddies from the Cancer Center where we met during chemotherapy.  She's one of the most positive people I have ever known!

Hope all is well with everyone and you're staying safe and crafty!

Hugs,
Annie

Seize the Birthday #186

Hi Friends!  Well, usually I'm a Toppings kind of person over at the Seize the Birthday Challenges.  The topping this time around is Cards for Kids:

I'm making birthday cards for residents in the local assisted living facility since they can't have any visitors right now so I skipped the topping for the challenge this time.

This card is really just a Poppy Parade! I love the color and used Stampin' Up's Peaceful Poppies DSP for the envelope and the Poppy Moments dies for the inlaid poppies and foliage. The inlaid portion of the poppies is also a piece of DSP from the set.  The sentiment is from the SU Everything is Rosy stamp set.  I finished it off with a few dots in Poppy Parade ink.  I hope it brings cheer to someone on their special day!

I'm so glad you stopped by ~ hope you all are well!

Hugs,
Annie

Big Butt

Hi friends!  Well, the cabin fever (which is much better than the alternative) has definitely set in and now I feel a little like the groundhog movie.  As I sat down to write this blog post, I realized that I had already entered a card for The Paper Players latest challenge!

I'm not sure if a second entry is ok since I've never done this before.  If not, I totally understand if I'm deleted!  I just love Tic Tac Toe challenges LOL!  For this Easter card I went on the diagonal with Patterned Paper, Spring & Pink.

The patterned paper was made with Concord & 9th's Plaid background stamp and layered on top of a scalloped rectangle (Mama Elephant) on a white card base.  The bunnies and sentiment are from Taylored Expressions' stamp and die set, If Bunnies Could Talk.  The sentiment makes me laugh every time I see it!

Thanks for stopping by ~ Stay well!

Hugs,
Annie
