Shopping Our Stash #438: Love is in the air!

Hi friends!  I'm playing along with a couple of challenges today with my Valentines.  The first one is Shopping Our Stash #438 where the theme is "Love is in the Air!"

For this card, I stenciled heart balloons (Waffle Flower) with Distress Oxide inks and drew strings on a few of them.  I added Nuvo Glitter drops in Sherbert Shimmer and an old rubber stamp sentiment from my stash by Savvy Stamps heat embossed on black cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Valentine's Day!

Shopping Our Stash #435: What's black and white and red all over?

 Hello Friends,

Today I'm also playing along over at Shopping Our Stash where the challenge is to create a black, white, and red project.

It just happens to be one of my all time favorite color combinations.  I played around with a card kit from Impress using the Spellbinders "Building Snowman" die, Poppystamp frame dies, and DSP from Carta Bella and MFT.  I love the silhouette look!  The sentiment is from Penny Black's "Bright and Light" stamp set and I thought it was perfect for the scene.

Thanks for stopping by.  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Hugs,

Ann

Shopping Our Stash #434: Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow

Hi Friends! Today I'm playing along over at Shopping Our Stash where the theme is "Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow."

Here's my card with some very glittery die cut snowflakes using Stampin' Up's Balmy Blue Glitter paper, Waffle Flower's stripes stencil, and Darice snowflake embossing folder.  So sparkly!

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Holidays!

Annie

Shopping Our Stash #432: Hot Drinks for Cold Nights

Hi Friends! I'm playing along over at Shopping Our Stash where they are looking for Hot Drinks for Cold Nights.

I'm not really a Pumpkin Spice Latte gal like so many of my friends but I do love a Spiced Chai Latte, especially in the Fall and Winter.

I found this die cut oval with a Copic-colored coffee cup (Unity) in my extra die cuts stash (totally by accident) and immediately thought of this challenge.  I added some DSP and linen thread to a card base.  I popped up the oval and used Glossy Accents on the heart.  I also did some splatters and added a great sentiment from Technique Tuesday to the inside:

Cheers to all and thanks for stopping by!

Hugs,

Annie

Shopping Our Stash #430: Slimline Cards

Hi Friends! I'm playing along over at Shopping Our Stash where they are getting trendy this week and looking for slimline cards.

This is only the third slimline card I've made.  I did buy a slimline die set from Catherine Pooler so I didn't have to think about the measurements too much!

I used Distress Inks with a SSS Leaves stencil on watercolor card, did some splattering, and die cut into squares.  I added some SU linen thread and a SU sentiment and then finished off the card with gold confetti sequins.  Now I just need to practice how to photograph these tall cards! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by ~ hope you're having a good week.

Annie

Shopping Our Stash #426: KISS (Keep It Simple Sister)

Hi Friends! Back again with my second card I made this weekend.  This one is to play along over at Shopping Our Stash where they are asking us to keep it simple.

This was a fun card to make.  I did a little bit of stenciling in the background with Distress Ink and then started making cocktails! I used a stamp set and dies from Stampin' Up called 'Nothing's Better Than' and popped them up on a scrap of DSP.  I really like the retro look of the glasses.

Thanks for stopping by ~ have a great week!

Annie

Shopping Our Stash #425: Black and White

Hi Friends!  I'm playing along over at Shopping Our Stash where they are looking for Black and White cards...one of my favorites!

This card was pretty quick to put together.  I die cut a stitched black frame from Lawn Fawn and layered on a Neenah Solar White card base.  I used Stampin' Up's Party Panda stamp set to start the party.  I added a MFT die cut DSP balloon and popped it up over the smaller one from the stamp.  The sentiment is from Stampin' Up's Hello Cupcake stamp set.  I finished it off with some Stampin' Up black stars.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great week!

Shopping Our Stash #423: You're So Sweet

Hi Friends! Posting a card today for the current Shopping Our Stash challenge with a 'You're So Sweet' theme.

I used Pinkfresh Studio's Sweet Lemonade stamp and dies to create this card.  I stamped and die cut the bottle out of watercolor cardstock and blended Distress Inks for the lemonade.  The sentiment was heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  A happy mistake this time...the distress ink was not completely dry so the bottle looks like its a little frosty where the clear embossing powder stuck. I really need to learn to be more patient and let things dry!

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you're having a great week and a safe 4th!

Annie

Shopping our Stash #422: UFO's (UnFinished Objects)

Hi Friends!  Shopping our Stash is looking for projects that use up bits and pieces that we have that never quite made it to a final project.  Things like die cuts, backgrounds, images, ribbon, etc. that are in our stash just waiting for a new home!  Perfect challenge for me and my many tubs and cups and containers of bits and pieces :)

My UFO's for this card are 1) Cattails die cut (over a year old); 2) Distress Ink blended background on watercolor cardstock (at least 6 months); and 3) a strip of black/white DSP from scrap bin.  The sentiment is a newer one I had to have from The Stamp Market called Hugs & Hellos.  Feels good to use those bits!

Thanks for stopping by ~ hope you're having a good week!

Annie

Shopping our Stash #421: Stuck on You!

Shopping Our Stash has a fun challenge this time around that had me digging into my sticker bin!  The challenge is "Stuck on You" and asks us to use stickers on a project.

I did not realize how many stickers I actually was hoarding...eek!  I found these darling stickers (the puppy & hearts) from Doodlebug Designs called Puppy Love and had to make a puppy card.

I made the card base from MFT's Summer Splash cardstock.  After stamping some puppy paws, I layered a DSP scrap from DCWV 'The Pets Stack.'  The sentiment is from MFT's 'Make My Tail Wag' and layered on a couple of SU label die cuts.  I added a bit of SU Bermuda Bay bakers twine to finish the card.  I hope I'm the person my puppies think I am!

Thanks for stopping by ~ Have a great week!

Annie

Shopping Our Stash #419: Happy Mother's Day

Hi Friends! Shopping our Stash is celebrating Mother's Day for their current challenge.

I wish my Mom was here to celebrate.  When asked what she wanted for Mother's Day, she always said, "I just want to see my kids."  I know exactly what she meant now, especially since some of us will be video chatting this Mother's Day.  I made this card for my DIL who is a fantastic Mom to my super duper DGS:

I went with the dandelion 'make a wish' theme since I wish we could get together for our annual brunch this year.  A pretty simple card that includes a couple of dandelion die cuts from Tim Holtz' Wildflowers dies and some new fab DSP from Lawn Fawn called "Dandy Day."

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there!

Hugs,
Annie

Shopping our Stash #418

Hi friends! Shopping our Stash is celebrating Spring for the current challenge:

The theme is Happy Passover - Happy Easter - Happy Spring. I'm going to continue celebrating Spring as long as I can with flowers.  The weather has been fantastic and it's so fun for me to see all the new growth poking out of the dirt.

I'm still playing with the Beautiful Friendship stamps from Stampin' Up.  I just love the images in this set, especially the hydrangeas!  I created the background with Catherine Pooler's Queen for a Day (purple) and Sage inks.  The card base is My Favorite Things' Purple Rain cardstock and yep, I kept hearing Prince's song in my head the entire time!

Thanks for stopping by ~ Have a great weekend!

Hugs,
Annie

Shopping Our Stash #417: Under the Sun, Moon and Stars

Hi there! Back again with a card for the latest Shopping Our Stash Challenge: Under the Sun, Moon and Stars.

In my stash is a stamp set from Ellen Hutson that I had to have but have never used...perfect for this challenge!

I used the 'Voices in my Head' stamp set to create this thank you card.  I used MFT's Star Confetti stencil set and the first layer of stars were stenciled with Delicata Golden Glitz Ink.  The second layer of stars were stenciled with DecoFoil's Metallix Gel in Gold.  I added the heat embossed sentiment on a PTI die cut and layered it over some SU sequin ribbon and gold metallic thread.  The hardest part of this card for me was waiting for everything to dry without sticking my fingers in it!

Thanks for visiting ~ Take care and stay well!

Hugs,
Annie

One Year Older

Hi Friends!  I hope you all are well.  I have a bit of cabin fever but that is much better than the alternative.  Besides baking cupcakes and taste testing too many, I put together a card for a couple of fun challenges:

Seize the Birthday #185: Touch of Green

Here's my card:

The stenciled oval includes Distress Oxide inks using Gina K.'s Thick Brush Stencil for my 'Touch of Green.'  The little Toucan (Catherine Pooler) was colored with Jane Davenport pencils, die cut, and popped up.  The MFT sentiment (Anything but Basic B'day Wishes) was white heat embossed and popped up also.  A few sequins were added to finish the card.

Thanks for stopping by ~ Stay well!

Hugs,
Annie

Shopping Our Stash #415: Is It Summer Yet?

Back again with the last card for today.  Over at Shopping Our Stash they are getting a little tired of winter and longing for a bit of summer.  The SOS Challenge #415 asks Is It Summer Yet?

Well, no summer in sight here but I can dream of a little sunshine and sharing nice cold popsicles with my grandson!

Those layering Perfect Popsicle stamps from Sunny Studio definitely make me think of summer.  I used Catherine Pooler's inks for this sweet treat, a sentiment from Stamps of Life, and Neat & Tangled's Ink Splash before I popped up the popsicle.  A pretty simple but refreshing card!!

Thanks for visiting ~ I hope you had a great weekend!

Hugs,
Annie

Shopping Our Stash #413: My Heart is on Fire

Hello! Have I mentioned I love making LOVE cards!?! The latest challenge over at Shopping Our Stash is a love theme for Valentine's Day - My Heart is on Fire.

My card is using another one of my stenciled backgrounds in my stash:

The stencil from SSS has two layers.  I stenciled the first layer with Distress Worn Lipstick.  For the second layer I used Nuvo Silver Glitter paste.  The sentiment from Taylored Expressions (If Hearts Could Talk) was heat embossed with Hero Arts silver embossing powder, layered on a silver glitter die cut.  I wrapped the card with silver metallic thread before popping up the sentiment.  Lots of texture and shine on this card!

Thanks for stopping by!

Annie

Shopping our Stash #411: Gnome Sweet Gnome

Oh! This challenge from Shopping our Stash was perfect for me! I really went overboard making little gnomes from the Simon Says Stamp Christmas card kit and half of them were hanging around in a Ziploc baggy on my desk!

So I grabbed a little guy and made a Valentine's Day card to play along:

I stamped a background of X's & O's from Concord & 9th with SSS Fog ink on SSS Fog cardstock.  I added a red mirror card balloon die cut (MFT) with silver thread and layered my gnomie on washi and a heart stamped strip (also Concord & 9th).  The inside sentiment is "Happy Valentine's Day!"  I like the idea of gnomes on Valentines so I'm sure I'll make more of these with my stash!

Thanks for stopping by ~ have a great weekend!

Hugs,
Annie
