Tic Tac Toe Challenge #119

Hello Friends! Here's the new board over at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge...let's go to the beach!

I played along with the first row across: Beach, Stencil, and Yellow:

After stenciling a background with MFT's Window Panes stencil and Salty Ocean Distress Ink, I added my favorite seagulls from MFT's Seaside Seagulls.  The sentiment is an oldie but goodie from the Stamps of Life.  I live on the coast where there is a McDonald's just a couple of blocks off the beach and lots of seagulls circling for a french fry or two so the sentiment is very appropriate!

And some news...It's been a fun year being on the DT for one of my favorite challenges and I'm grateful for the opportunity to play along with such talented crafters.  It's time, however, for me to move on so this will be my last DT post for TTTC.  Thanks so much for stopping by to visit and I'm sure I'll see you out there in blogland!

Cheers,
Annie

The Paper Players #538: Claire's Sketch Challenge

Hi Friends! This week is a sketch challenge over at The Paper Players:

I think sketch challenges are one of my favorites because they give you such a great starting point (especially if you're missing your mojo)!

I had these cute little die cuts that I had stamped, colored, and die cut but they were missing a home.  This sketch was a perfect way to showcase them 😉

Here's the products I used:

  • Ellen Hutson 'Just Squidding' Stamps & Dies
  • Stampin' Up Blends
  • Hero Arts Wave Die
  • Doodlebug Design DSP from 'Anchors Aweigh'

Thanks for stopping by ~ Have a great week!

Hugs,

Annie

Seize the Birthday #208

Hi Friends! Here's a card to play along with Seize the Birthday's latest challenge.  The topping is to "Create a Scene""

I was totally inspired by the great DT cards, especially Cathy and Glenda's gorgeous ocean scenes.  I decided to pull out one of my favorite fish stamp sets from MFT called "Adorned Ocean Friends" and create an underwater scene with various other foliage stamps and SU DSP.  The sentiment is from an old Simon Says stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs,

Annie

The Paper Players #517: Ann's CAS Challenge

Hello Friends! I haven't had much time to play along with challenges lately so I was happy I could play today over at The Paper Players where Ann is hosting a Clean & Simple Challenge with a holiday theme:

This is a Christmas card for my DGS.  He loves sharks and we actually have a store here on the coast which specializes in all things "shark" that we have to visit every time he's here.

I die cut a wonky rectangle and masked off a square to blend an ocean background, splattering with shimmer spray when it was dry.  The shark and sentiment are from Avery Elle's "Santa Jaws" stamps and dies.  I used Stampin' Blends alcohol markers to simply color my image, die cut him, and then popped him up on the blended square.  I added some silver confetti sequins for bubbles.  I think it will make him smile :)

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you're having a good week!

Annie

Tic Tac Toe Challenge #080

Hi Friends!  Are you ready to play along with a new Tic Tac Toe Challenge board from Team X?  It's a good one with lots of possibilities!

My card follows the first row across: Stripes, Masculine, and Blue.

I started with a piece of watercolor card and stenciled the wavy lines (stripes) with Distress Inks and a stencil from Simon Says Stamp and then layered it onto a Neenah Solar White card base.  The anchor was die cut 3 times with the 'Anchors Away' die from Spellbinders out of Glimmery Coal cardstock (SSS) and layered on a MFT circle die cut.  The sentiment from MFT's 'You Float My Boat' was heat embossed and tucked under the anchor.  I finished off the card with Waffle Flower Clear Enamel Dots that I colored with a blue Copic.

We hope you'll play along with us over at TTTC this week! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Tic Tac Toe Challenge #075

Hi Friends!  Design Team O is on this week with another fun and sunny board over at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge:

I went with the first row across:  Water, Green, and Enamel Dots.

I am so ready to stop adulting so I thought this theme was perfect!  I used Distress Oxide Mermaid Lagoon ink (of course) and MFT's Wave Maker stencil to create my ocean.  I spritzed it with Perfect Pearls and water before attaching to my card base.  The lovely Mermaid Tail stamps and dies are from Ellen Hutson which I colored with Zig Clean Color markers after heat embossing with Hero Arts Fine Detail Gold Embossing Powder.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  I finished the card with Stampin' Up Glitter Enamel Dots.  Anyone up for a swim?

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you find a bit of time to link up with us this week.  See you in the gallery!

Seize the Birthday #195

Hi Friends!  I'm playing along today with the challenge, Seize the Birthday.  It is always a birthday themed challenge with a little extra topping thrown in for more fun!

The topping this time around is to use a non-neutral card base.  I've used a Memory Box Blueberry Notecard for my card base:

I don't know about you but I'm so excited that Shark Week is coming up on August 9th.  I love that series so to celebrate, I'm going with a Baby Shark birthday card!

And if you're a fan of the movie Jaws, you'll sing when you read the sentiment!  I used Distress Oxide inks to blend the background on watercolor paper, then sprinkled some shimmer spray for bubbles.  The shark die cut (Baby Shark) and sentiment (Sharky Sentiments) are from My Favorite Things.  Clear enamel dots were added to finish off the card.

Thanks for stopping by!  Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo...

Hugs,
Annie

The Paper Players #498: Fun and Fancy Folds

Hi Friends!  I'm playing along over at The Paper Players Challenge where Ann is hosting a theme of Fun and Fancy Folds:

I'll admit, I'm not a fancy fold cardmaker.  Once in a blue moon I'll give one a try but I thought it would be fun to play along since I had some time to make a few mistakes!  Maybe it's the measuring that messes me up but this time I only had to make the base card once so yippee for me 😊

It's a Stand Up card where the base was cut from Stampin' Up's Night of Navy cardstock.  The DSP is SU Tranquil Textures and the Octopus from SU's Sea of Textures stamps and Under the Sea Framelits. Being at the beach, this is one of my absolute fave stamps and dies.  I die cut MFT's Hugs out of the Night of Navy cardstock and then popped up the sentiment strip from SSS.  This will be heading to my DGS for an 'octopus hug' until we can actually hug in person again!

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you're having a good week!

Hugs,
Annie

Tic Tac Toe Challenge #070

Happy Friday!  A card post today for the latest Tic Tac Toe Challenge #070:

My card is following the first row on the diagonal:  Polka Dots, Coloring, and Sparkle.

First I embossed some waves (Darice) on 2/3 of the Neenah Solar White card base.  My little bathing beauty is from MFT's Fun in the Sun stamp set.  I paper pieced her polka dot bathing suit and did some simple Copic coloring.  Her shades were covered with Glossy Accents.  She is 'floating' on a very sparkly die cut oval (Concord & 9th Summer Glitter paper).  The 'sun' is from Catherine Pooler's Party Fan stamp set and the sentiment from Gina K.'s Sun-kissed stamp set. She looks like she's having fun to me!

Thanks for stopping by ~ Have a great weekend!

Tic Tac Toe Challenge #068

Hi Friends!  Today I'm playing along over at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge #068 with a fun summery board:

I used the first row across:  Flip Flops, Sponge/Brush, and Summer.

On watercolor cardstock, I used my blending brushes and Distress Inks to create a beach.  The sea foam was heat embossed with Hero Arts White Puff embossing powder.  The ocean was sprayed with Perfect Pearls and water for a fun sparkle.  The flip flops were stamped with SU inks and die cut using Stamps of Life's flipflops2stamp dies.  A little sparkle was added to the flower and straps using a Nuvo Glitter Gloss pen.  I'm ready to go to the beach for a walk!

Thanks for stopping by ~ have a great weekend!

Annie

The Paper Players #494: Anne Marie's Theme Challenge

Hello Sunshine! Lots of sunshine today so perfect for The Paper Players latest challenge:

I used Concord & 9th's Hello Sunshine Turnabout to create the gold heat embossed sun.  Distress Oxide inks were used to blend the 'sky' and then treated with Distress Glaze.  I added some Pretty Pink Posh Metallic Gold Confetti to the golden rays to finish the card.

I'd also like to play along over at Just Us Girls #539 where the word is 'Sunshine.'

Thanks for stopping by!

Seize the Birthday #191: Totally Tropical

Hello Friends! Yes, a tropical vacation sounds soooo good right now and Seize the Birthday is letting us take a little trip this time around. Any birthday-themed card may link up but the optional topping for this challenge is Totally Tropical and I 'totally' wanted to go there!

I was inspired by Nancy's DT card to use my MFT Beach Scene Builder dies to create this card.  The tropical sky and ocean were ink blended with Distress Oxides.  The birthday sentiment and starfish are from Gina K.'s Sun-Kissed stamps and dies. Looks like a great place to spend a birthday!

Thanks for a fun challenge!

Annie

Freshly Made Sketches #427

Hi Friends! Waiting for the sun to come out so I can get out of the house and work in the yard, I put together a card for the latest sketch challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches:

I pulled out my beachy-themed stamps for this card with a sentiment for a special friend having a difficult time:

I stamped the card base with Hero Arts Bubbles background stamp in DI Tumbled Glass.  The 'water' strip is from an alcohol background I made in my stash.  The fish and grass are from MFT's Adorned Ocean Friends and the sentiment from MFT's Ocean Fun stamp set.  I added sparkle to the sea grass and a few 'clear' bubbles to finish the card.

Thanks for stopping by ~ stay well and send a paper hug to a friend that may need it!

The Paper Players #481: Laurie's Color Challenge

Hello Friends!  Today I'm posting for the latest challenge over at The Paper Players.  It's a Color Challenge with great colors that remind me of summer!

I've been in a Gina K. wreath-building mood lately and was totally inspired by Jaydee on the DT when I saw her shells.  So why not a beachy wreath?

This is a square 5 x 5 card base. Using the Gina K. Wreath Builder stencil and a little beach ball and starfish from an older Hero Arts stamp set, I built my beachy wreath.  I actually had all three of the Stampin' Up ink pads for this which made me happy. I added some Nuvo Iridescent Drops to finish off the card...love them - they look like pearls.

Thanks for stopping by ~ Have a great weekend!

Seize the Birthday #182: Creatures Great and Small

Hi there!  Back with the third and last card I made today.  This one was to play along over at Seize the Birthday with the extra Topping of Creatures Great and Small:

Since I'm a retired Beach Bum, I had to get "crabby" with this one for my creature!

This little guy is a die from Elizabeth Craft called 'Rocky the Crab' that I die cut out of black, red, and white cardstock.   I created a Watercolor Wash background (Stampin' Up) with Catherine Pooler inks on a Neenah Solar White card base. Then I added some VersaMark to the sand and used Hero Arts 'Sand' embossing powder for lots of sandy texture.  The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp that I glued in Rocky's claws and then popped him up in the sand.  I added a little die cut seashell and some Nuvo Morning Dew Crystal Drops.  Finally I stamped some seagulls to finish the card.  Fun challenge!

Thanks for stopping by ~ come back again!

Annie
