The Paper Players #529: A CAS Challenge from LeAnne

Hi Friends! I'm playing along over at The Paper Players where LeAnne has a CAS Challenge for us featuring felines:

Now, I'm not a cat person.  Not because I don't want to be but that is one allergy that I never outgrew.  Needless to say, I have a ton of dog stamps but only 2 stamps featuring cats!  I chose the one stamp that wouldn't start me sneezing:

My kitty coffee cup came from Catherine Pooler and the sentiment from My Favorite Things.  I used a coffee bean embossing folder on the top 2/3 of the card and stenciled little rays of sunshine around the cup. I used Stampin' Up Blends to color the hypoallergenic cat :)

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you're having a good week!

Hugs,
Annie

CASology #383: Envelope

Hi Friends! A CAS card today to play along over at CASology where the inspiration is "Envelope."

I've sent a lot of "paper hugs" to my family and friends over the past year so that was the starting point for my card:

I kept it very simple in black and white with a touch of red using a stamp from Simon Says Stamp called Paper Hug.  I popped up the stitched rectangle for a little interest and added Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the heart.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Valentine's Day!

The Paper Players #517: Ann's CAS Challenge

Hello Friends! I haven't had much time to play along with challenges lately so I was happy I could play today over at The Paper Players where Ann is hosting a Clean & Simple Challenge with a holiday theme:

This is a Christmas card for my DGS.  He loves sharks and we actually have a store here on the coast which specializes in all things "shark" that we have to visit every time he's here.

I die cut a wonky rectangle and masked off a square to blend an ocean background, splattering with shimmer spray when it was dry.  The shark and sentiment are from Avery Elle's "Santa Jaws" stamps and dies.  I used Stampin' Blends alcohol markers to simply color my image, die cut him, and then popped him up on the blended square.  I added some silver confetti sequins for bubbles.  I think it will make him smile :)

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you're having a good week!

Annie

CASology #373: September

Hello friends! I haven't played along over at CASology in soooo long and I just about missed the deadline on this one.  It has long been a favorite challenge of mine and I hope I can play more often in the future.

Every year since September 11, 2001, I make a card to let someone know I am thinking of them. When I saw that the theme this time was September, I thought I would link my card up.  This year I used a photo of the Twin Towers and the Lights as inspiration to pay tribute to those lost.

I know it's a somber entry, but it's personal for me and my family.  September is not our "happiest" month.  I blended a DI Concord Preserves night sky and had masked off the tribute lights for each of the towers.  I used Tumbled Glass for the tower lights.  I splattered some shimmer spray and the 'Cityscape' die cut is from Savvy Dies, backed with white for night lights.  The sentiment is from Simon Says. I know the recipient will understand what I was trying to do.

Thanks for visiting.

Hugs,

Annie

The Paper Players #504: Claire's CAS Challenge

Hi friends! I put together a very Clean and Simple card today to play along over at The Paper Players where Claire is hosting a CAS Challenge with a Back to School theme:

My grandson is starting 5th grade this year from home with online learning.  I usually make lunchbox notes every year but since there's no lunchbox, I thought I'd go with some fun cards in the mail.  The images are from Ellen Hutson's Mini Voices in My Head by Julie E. I watercolored them loosely with my Zig Clean Color Markers on Bristol card and added the sentiment from SSS Lunch Box Notes 2.  Very clean and simple but I hope it makes him smile.

Thanks for stopping by!

The Paper Players #496: Joanne's CAS Challenge

Hello Friends! This week over at The Paper Players is a CAS Challenge with a Thank You theme.

My Clean and Simple card today started with a Neenah Solar White card base.  I added an embossed popped up square (Renke Grid EF) to ground my stamped and die cut 'Sweet Strawberry' from Concord & 9th.  I heat embossed the sentiment which is also from the same stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by ~ Have a great 1st week of summer!

The Paper Players #478: CAS Challenge from Jaydee

Hi Friends! Over at The Paper Players, Jaydee is hosting a Clean and Simple Challenge this week with a fun theme of "Woodland Critters:"

We have a lot of woodland critters down at the beach but one of my faves (besides the deer) are the little wild brown bunnies.  And since my next big card making holiday is Easter, why not a CAS Easter card for the challenge - with a little brown bunny, of course.

I used Concord & 9th's Stitched Blooms die to add the stitched flowers to the white background layer for some texture.  The bunny was die cut with Impression Obsession's Bunny die using scrap cardstock. The heat embossed sentiment is from Lawn Fawn. I added a few white gel dots and some Wink of Stella on his carrot snack.

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you're having a great week!

Hugs,
Annie

Casology #361: Sweetheart

Lots of love and Valentines in the air!  I made a CAS card to play along over at Casology where the cue is "Sweetheart."

A stenciled heart with Distress Ink, a cupid die cut from Savvy Stamps, and an oldie but goodie sentiment from my stash was all that was used for this sweetheart of a card 💗:

Thanks for stopping by ~ Happy Valentine's Day!

Annie

Casology #360: Crystal

Hello Friends!  I made a few cards today for challenges while the wind and rain raged outside.  This card is for the latest Casology challenge where the cue is 'Crystal':

So, before retirement and downsizing, I had beautiful crystal cocktail glasses that my MIL had gifted us from Germany. And, yes, they were well used at many fun parties!  Anyway, that's what I thought of when I saw the cue and the result was a cocktail party on a card 😉.

The glasses were die cut from MFT Let's Toast dies that I blended with Distress Oxides (Tattered Rose, Fossilized Amber, and Tumbled Glass) for the drinks.  Can you guess what the drinks are?  The sentiment came from MFT's A Toast to You stamp set. I added some bubbles and Nuvo Glitter Gloss to finish the party.

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you're having a great weekend! Can't believe it's already February...

Hugs,
Annie

The Paper Players #474: A CAS Challenge from Laurie

Hi there! Back again with a second card today for the latest challenge over at The Paper Players.  This time we are working on Clean & Simple designs with a 'Fashion Fun' theme:

This is when I realized that my stash does not include a lot of 'fashion' items but I remembered a dress die from Memory Box that I've had for a long time.  I originally had used it for a wedding shower and thought I could have some "fashion fun" with it for this challenge!

First, I stamped the Roses All Over background stamp (MFT) with Distress Spun Sugar ink on the Neenah Solar White card base.  Then I die cut the dress out of AC pink glitter paper and white foam, glued them together, and added a black ribbon sash and pink gems.  I found this sentiment from MFT (Anything but Basic B'day Wishes) that I thought would work and stamped on the card front.  A very girly card, don't you think?

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you're having a great week!

Hugs,
Annie
