The Paper Players #497: A Sketch Challenge from Claire

Hi Friends!  Claire is hosting a fun sketch challenge this week over at the Paper Players:

I decided to use the supplies I had on my desk to see what I could come up with for this one.  I did rotate the sketch a turn:

I hope you can read the sentiment.  I really liked it, especially during the current times:  "There's no lemon so sour that you can't make something resembling lemonade."

Supplies Used:
Scrap DSP
Pinkfresh Studio Sweet Lemonade Stamps & Dies
Distress Inks
Nuvo Gloss Glitter Pen
Clear Enamel Dots

Cheers!  Thanks for stopping by!

Shopping Our Stash #423: You're So Sweet

Hi Friends! Posting a card today for the current Shopping Our Stash challenge with a 'You're So Sweet' theme.

I used Pinkfresh Studio's Sweet Lemonade stamp and dies to create this card.  I stamped and die cut the bottle out of watercolor cardstock and blended Distress Inks for the lemonade.  The sentiment was heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  A happy mistake this time...the distress ink was not completely dry so the bottle looks like its a little frosty where the clear embossing powder stuck. I really need to learn to be more patient and let things dry!

Thanks for stopping by ~ I hope you're having a great week and a safe 4th!

Hugs,
Annie

Seize the Birthday #193: Watercoloring

Hello Friends!  I put together a second card today for the current Seize the Birthday Challenge where the Topping is watercoloring.

I played with liquid watercolors on this background.  It was the first time I had used them.  I used a blue and a green and they blended beautifully.  Of course, I had to add splatter.  The white embossed leaves are die cuts from Spellbinders that I placed on the background, along with the embossed sentiment (MFT).  A few Moonstone Confetti sequins were scattered among the leaves to finish off the card.

Thanks for stopping by ~ Have a great weekend!

Hugs,
Annie

Tic Tac Toe Challenge #070

Happy Friday!  A card post today for the latest Tic Tac Toe Challenge #070:

My card is following the first row on the diagonal:  Polka Dots, Coloring, and Sparkle.

First I embossed some waves (Darice) on 2/3 of the Neenah Solar White card base.  My little bathing beauty is from MFT's Fun in the Sun stamp set.  I paper pieced her polka dot bathing suit and did some simple Copic coloring.  Her shades were covered with Glossy Accents.  She is 'floating' on a very sparkly die cut oval (Concord & 9th Summer Glitter paper).  The 'sun' is from Catherine Pooler's Party Fan stamp set and the sentiment from Gina K.'s Sun-kissed stamp set. She looks like she's having fun to me!

Thanks for stopping by ~ Have a great weekend!

The Paper Players #496: Joanne's CAS Challenge

Hello Friends! This week over at The Paper Players is a CAS Challenge with a Thank You theme.

My Clean and Simple card today started with a Neenah Solar White card base.  I added an embossed popped up square (Renke Grid EF) to ground my stamped and die cut 'Sweet Strawberry' from Concord & 9th.  I heat embossed the sentiment which is also from the same stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by ~ Have a great 1st week of summer!

Tic Tac Toe Challenge #069

Hi Friends! Today I'm playing along over at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge:

I ended up going with the first row down:  Hugs, Pink, and Diamond.

I die cut numerous diamond shapes from an old DCWV paper pad with different pink patterns.  (I'm really trying to use up my DSP!)  The die cuts were laid out on a piece of copy paper and then glued down.  The piece was trimmed down and layered onto a Neenah Solar White card base.  The Hugs sentiment was die cut 3 times and glued together.  I used Worn Lipstick Distress Ink to give the letters a "dipped" look before attaching to the card.  A little Nuvo Glitter Gloss gave the sentiment alot of sparkle.  I finished off the card with Stampin' Up's Glitter Enamel Dots.

Thanks for stopping by ~ Have a great weekend!

Tic Tac Toe Challenge #068

Hi Friends!  Today I'm playing along over at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge #068 with a fun summery board:

I used the first row across:  Flip Flops, Sponge/Brush, and Summer.

On watercolor cardstock, I used my blending brushes and Distress Inks to create a beach.  The sea foam was heat embossed with Hero Arts White Puff embossing powder.  The ocean was sprayed with Perfect Pearls and water for a fun sparkle.  The flip flops were stamped with SU inks and die cut using Stamps of Life's flipflops2stamp dies.  A little sparkle was added to the flower and straps using a Nuvo Glitter Gloss pen.  I'm ready to go to the beach for a walk!

Thanks for stopping by ~ have a great weekend!

Annie

The Paper Players #494: Anne Marie's Theme Challenge

Hello Sunshine! Lots of sunshine today so perfect for The Paper Players latest challenge:

I used Concord & 9th's Hello Sunshine Turnabout to create the gold heat embossed sun.  Distress Oxide inks were used to blend the 'sky' and then treated with Distress Glaze.  I added some Pretty Pink Posh Metallic Gold Confetti to the golden rays to finish the card.

I'd also like to play along over at Just Us Girls #539 where the word is 'Sunshine.'

Thanks for stopping by!

Shopping our Stash #422: UFO's (UnFinished Objects)

Hi Friends!  Shopping our Stash is looking for projects that use up bits and pieces that we have that never quite made it to a final project.  Things like die cuts, backgrounds, images, ribbon, etc. that are in our stash just waiting for a new home!  Perfect challenge for me and my many tubs and cups and containers of bits and pieces :)

My UFO's for this card are 1) Cattails die cut (over a year old); 2) Distress Ink blended background on watercolor cardstock (at least 6 months); and 3) a strip of black/white DSP from scrap bin.  The sentiment is a newer one I had to have from The Stamp Market called Hugs & Hellos.  Feels good to use those bits!

Thanks for stopping by ~ hope you're having a good week!

Annie

Tic Tac Toe Challenge #067

Hi Friends!  A card today to play along over at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge. It was a great board with fun choices.  So many fun choices I spent way too much time trying to decide what to do!

I finally decided to go with the third row down:  Rainbow, Heart, and Stripes.

I began by swiping rainbow-colored ink stripes using my little Memento ink pads. They were a little dry but I liked the distressed result.  I stamped the heart filled with butterflies from Unity ('Trust It Will Be Okay') in VersaFine Onyx Black ink and then heat embossed in with clear EP.  I die cut the panel with Honey Bee's Deckled Rectangles and layered onto a black notecard base.  The sentiment from Simon Says Stamp was popped up and a few clear enamel drops were added.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you had a great weekend.

Hugs,
Annie

Shopping our Stash #421: Stuck on You!

Shopping Our Stash has a fun challenge this time around that had me digging into my sticker bin!  The challenge is "Stuck on You" and asks us to use stickers on a project.

I did not realize how many stickers I actually was hoarding...eek!  I found these darling stickers (the puppy & hearts) from Doodlebug Designs called Puppy Love and had to make a puppy card.

I made the card base from MFT's Summer Splash cardstock.  After stamping some puppy paws, I layered a DSP scrap from DCWV 'The Pets Stack.'  The sentiment is from MFT's 'Make My Tail Wag' and layered on a couple of SU label die cuts.  I added a bit of SU Bermuda Bay bakers twine to finish the card.  I hope I'm the person my puppies think I am!

Thanks for stopping by ~ Have a great week!

The Paper Players #493: Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge

Happy Monday!  A fifth week in May brings a Tic Tac Toe Challenge from The Paper Players:

I made a birthday card for my brother using the third row down: Birthday, Silver, Embossing.

He's very handy so the tool theme seemed to work perfectly.  I embossed the bottom 2/3 of the card front.  The die cut hammer and large sentiment are from My Favorite Things.  I added another little sentiment from Simon Says Stamp and some silver 'nails' from my bling stash.

Thanks for stopping by ~ Happy June! Here comes summer....

Hugs,
Annie

Seize the Birthday #191: Totally Tropical

Hello Friends! Yes, a tropical vacation sounds soooo good right now and Seize the Birthday is letting us take a little trip this time around. Any birthday-themed card may link up but the optional topping for this challenge is Totally Tropical and I 'totally' wanted to go there!

I was inspired by Nancy's DT card to use my MFT Beach Scene Builder dies to create this card.  The tropical sky and ocean were ink blended with Distress Oxides.  The birthday sentiment and starfish are from Gina K.'s Sun-Kissed stamps and dies. Looks like a great place to spend a birthday!

Thanks for a fun challenge!

Hugs,
Annie
